Kir Reel is a Nizhny Novgorod–based musician and live artist working in the realms of dub techno, hypnotic techno, and mental tekno. At the core of his approach is “oscillation”: pulse, micro-modulation, and spatial depth that evolve not through sudden turns, but through gradual drift.
In 2023, Kir Reel debuted on the US label Retrigg Records with the full-length album Synapse - atmospheric and dark hypnotic techno. The same year he presented his material at the international Rubezh festival in Kyrgyzstan. He later released on the UK-based Ubertrend Records, shifting the focus toward dub techno’s slow pressure and foggy textures.
In 2026, Kir Reel is preparing a series of releases that mark a new direction: higher speed and non-standard meters. Live, Kir Reel performs with a modular synthesizer and two samplers, combining tightly crafted grooves with wild, untamed modular gestures.
